The Morbegno Musica 23/24 season continues with a rich and established calendar, proposed by local music associations in collaboration with the Municipality of Morbegno and with the support of the Mattei Foundation
We have thus arrived at the last AmbriaJazz event for this edition.
On Friday, April 12, Morbegno is preparing to host a unique evening dedicated to the history of jazz through the voices and notes of Ugo Viola and an ensemble of five extraordinary jazz musicians. This exceptional experience promises to transport audiences on an evocative journey of the most fascinating music of the 20th century.
Ugo Viola, is a well-known accordionist and former host and friend of AmbriaJazz, as well as founder of the Moncalieri Jazz Festival. He has been the preferred accordionist for Luciano Pavarotti, with whom he has collaborated since ’98 in all “Pavarotti & Friends”. Ugo brings his vast experience and deep love for jazz to Morbegno.
During the event, Ugo Viola and Valerio Signetto will guide the audience through the various periods in the evolution of jazz; from its roots in New Orleans Dixieland, through the Swing era of the great orchestras of the 1930s and 1940s, to the experimentations of Free Jazz, accompanied by the masterful live performances of a quintet of talented jazz musicians, consisting of Valerio Signetto on clarinet and sax, Fulvio Chiara on trumpet, Fabio Gorlier on piano, Loris Bertot on double bass and Gianpaolo Petrini on drums. It will be an unforgettable experience.
This event is not limited to a singular evening concert. A special matinee has been organized for secondary school students in Morbegno, offering a truly interactive lesson dedicated to exploring the history and styles of jazz.
