Wayne’s approach to jazz was transformative. His music exudes such honesty, purity, respect and confidence that one cannot listen to it without also being a part of this transformation while at the same time having great fun. It changes people, without a doubt, and over time it only gets better. It’s as if he knew that being honest, clear, and confident is the best thing to do. He is a source of light. Paraphrasing Herbie Hancock’s tribute to Shorter.
WAYNE SHORTER’S LEGACY is a journey into some of Shorter’s first compositions, written between the 60s and 70s. These pieces, distillations of creativity, are performed in vocal versions with original arrangements and texts by Sonia Schiavone. This concert also presents original pieces, which are tributes to the poetry and philosophical vision of Wayne Shorter, a prominent figure in contemporary jazz with a long career full of ideas and innovations.

The Auditorium Leone Trabucchi in Castione Andevenno can be easily reached by bicycle; only the last stretch has a final incline of 200 meters. Hiking along the Via dei Terrazzamenti da Triasso, you’ll pass through vineyards and small villages. A bonus…. you can also discover petroglyphs, ancient cave carvings!
Bring your hat, water bottle and sunscreen; you’ll find drinking fountains along the way. The route is easy, halfway up the coast and very scenic.
