Savana Funk – GHIBLI
Aldo Betto guitar, Blake C. S. Franchetto bass, double bass, Youssef Ait Bouazza drums
“Ghibli is a hot, dry and dusty wind that blows from the desert toward the Mediterranean.” These words describe the latest project from the band formed by Aldo Betto, Blake Franchetto and Youssef Ait Bouzza. It’s an album that looks to the colors and sounds from this southern part of the world guided by a central element: the wind that sings, whispers, sweeps and carries. A wind that cleanses thoughts and messes up hair and ideas.
A desert wind that drags sand into the sea and, in doing so, contaminates the environment. Simulateonously a driving and consoling force; the trio’s music brings together different cultures and worlds; harmoniously suspended between present and past, between Europe and Africa.
