The “Jazzmania Quintet” (starting from the group’s name, referencing the 1923 silent movie by the same name) pays tribute to an unusual line-up and the unique, famous short film “Vitaphone” of the 1920s. It featured the band composed of voice, violin, piano, double bass and drums and one of the most well-known violinist of his time, Georgie Stoll.

Realized from a well researched philological recovery that sheds light on cultural history, this unique quintet of musicians performs their music with energy and vitality. The Jazzmania Quintet it is sure to make a profound impression on all, even if one is not an expert of music history.

The Contrada Valbona di Piateda, can be easily reached by bicycle from Sondrio along the pleasant and flat biking and walking path, the Valtellina Trail. Along the way you can enjoy a dance performance by ORA near the Streppona bridge (h 18:00). From there you will follow the procession to the concert. If you don’t have ebike, you can rent one at 30% discount, a special offer by Valtelbike for friends of AmbriaJazz. All you need to do is to reserve it a couple of days in advance.

What could be a more beautiful way to admire the Valtellina landscape than walking en route to an AmbriaJazz Festival Concert?

This is a special #jazzcamminante because along the short route you’ll have the extra attraction of dance performances organized by ORA – Orobie Residenze Artistiche.

There are two departure time from the intersection of the Strada Provinciale and the Sentiero Valtellina at 17:00 and at 18:00. You’ll reach the Streppona bridge in time for the dance performances and arrive at the concert at 18:30.
