VÆVER is a noun in the Danish language translated as weaver in English, but it is also use an adjective to describe agile and elegant movement. Emanuele Maniscalco, an established multi-instrumentalist of Brescian origin, develops a deep and essential language, taking cues from diverse influences ranging from jazz to ambient music, from pop music to experimentation. Each musical idea is translated through Camilla Monga’s dance movement resulting in a continuously evolving choreography in which repetition becomes a form of change and the body becomes the alter-ego of the musical performance.
After her studies at the Brera Academy in Milan, Camilla Monza graduated in choreographic research at the P.A.R.T.S Academy in Brussels. Her research focuses on music and movement composition and she regularly collaborates with various composers and musicians. Her works have been presented at the Venice Dance Biennale, Bolzano Danza festival, b.Motion/Operaestate festival, Triennale Teatro di Milano.
Emanuele Maniscalco (1983) a multi-instrumentalist and composer, has gravitated around jazz and pop for the past two decades, collaborating with internationally renowned musicians such as Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Stefano Bollani, Gianluca Petrella and many others. Excursion with Guide Giuseppe Daccomi
Edited by Giuseppe Daccomi – Medium Mountain Guide – Collegio Guide Alpine Lombardia
#jazzcamminante departs at 2:30 p.m. from the Boffetto Hydroelectric Power Plant in Piateda hiking along uphill trails to Piateda Alta where there will be a dance performance at 5 p.m. The NOW Branches Review and the AmbriaJazz concert is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Return on foot or carpooling.
This year’s theme for #jazzcamminante will be “Reading the Landscape,” that is, during the various routes we will observe man made transformations to the territory and have the opportunity to visit and observe industrial and agrarian activities through this unique lens.
Made up of numerous hamlets and villages that dot its slopes and are scattered among forests and structures, the town of Piateda offers excursions that alternate between wilderness and lonely landscapes to others with gentle and welcoming characteristics . Tucked away are “hidden” identities, stories and legends that are always a pleasure to hear. Piateda is a locality where one can roam freely to explore and rediscover the territory.
The beginning of summer is a great occasion to take advantage of and enjoy a full afternoon and evening of activities; hiking, an artistic performance and a concert. An opportunity not to be missed!
