Perfect Harmony – THE VOICES OF VICTORY

In English, the term Gospel means Gospel, word of God, however, this term can refer to two genres of music: one closely related to “sacred music,” that is, musical genres associated with a religious or sacred theme, and is very similar to the choral song termed “spiritual” or jubilee which is related to African-American music, also with a Christian religious content. The Gospel originated in the southern United States during work in the cotton fields; it was one singer who sang the verse, then followed by the response of the other workers who acted as a chorus. Over time, the gospel was enriched with the addition of rhythmic underpinnings of the blues and rhythm and blues, spreading throughout the Western world. The lyrics of gospel singing, especially in the early days, were inspired by the Holy Bible, and especially the book of Psalms; over time, more secular contexts were also added, also played in night clubs. In the 1920s it was based on large church choirs with the presence of a lead singer with an exceptional voice, then came a more spontaneous form of religious devotion, where individual worshippers were encouraged to ” bear witness” by singing, playing and dancing their faith.

The choir was born in 1992 with Jennifer Ingram and her two daughters Chrystol and Nicole. The trio was inspired by women’s singing by The Clark Sisters, The Pace Sisters, En Vogue, SWV, Mary Mary and many others. In 1989 they met Evangelist Christine McGlothine-Moore, who included them in her own group and gave them many opportunities to share singing gifts, traveling to ministries across the United States in cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, West Palm Beach and many others. In 2002, mother and daughters officially united to form what was called Perfect Harmony and embarked on a successful path across the United States.
