This project presents a soul-stirring biographical soundscape of Lady Day through her words and songs. With electric piano, electric bass, drums and percussion, Braito offers a modern day interpretation of this legendary singer’s repertoire.

Listening to the voice of Billie Holiday has the ability to touch everyone, even without understanding the lyrics. Her songs communicate a profound sensitivity that each of us can relate to; sadness, happiness, loneliness, success. Her vibrant voice, innovative techniques and emotional tracks will always be remembered and loved. The concert pays tribute to the artistic spirit of the great Lady Day by recontextualizing it in our time, more than a century later. Journey with Nadia Braito and her musicians into the life of the great Billie Holiday with updated renditions of some of her best known and loved pieces.

DAY OF KINDNESS: a beautiful initiative to share

The Day of Kindness is organized by the inhabitants of the district of San Giuseppe, just north of Ardenno, in collaboration with Pro Loco of Ardenno. During the day the townspeople prepare and distribute polenta and fresh milk free of charge to all who show up with a bowl and spoon! Visitors are also invited to bring something to eat, drink and share with everyone at this pot-luck event. Now THAT’S kindness.

What could be a more beautiful way to admire the Valtellina landscape than walking en route to an AmbriaJazz Festival Concert?

Taking the Via dei Terrazzamenti from Ardenno, hike along a historic path that connects various districts. You can discover enchanting views, admire the valley from an unusual prospective and take a break from the sun walking through the woods.

Bring a hat, water bottle and hiking boots: you will find fountains on the way. The route is uphill but easy and very scenic.

If you want to travel to the performance with other concert goers, meet us for a departure at 9:00 from Piazza Roma in Ardenno, in front of City Hall, where there is also parking
